BACKGROUND
With over 40 jury trials and hundreds of bench trials, David has extensive litigation and trial experience. David has closed hundreds of Real Estate transactions, drafted and prepared numerous wills and trusts and administered the probate of various estates in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
David served as a Miami-Dade County prosecutor from 2005 through 2010. During his time as a prosecutor David worked within the Narcotics division, specializing in the prosecution of high-level felony drug trafficking and homicide cases.
David supported local and Federal law enforcement agencies with narcotic related investigations, assisting with search and arrest warrant review, confidential informant work and complex motion practice.
David has served as the Chairmen of the Addiction Services Board of the Miami Dade Board of County Commissioners to address community drug addiction issues and solutions.
David is a citizen member of the Miami-Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police.
David has served as the President of the Kiwanis Club of Biscayne Bay a non-profit organization that assists in planning and implementing numerous charitable and fundraising events to benefit the organization’s goals of helping children.
David is also a former member of the Board of Directors for the League of Prosecutors and for Neat Stuff, a local nonprofit designed to provide new clothing to homeless and children in need.
Working with Leadership Miami through the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, David helped to create a new community service program to address college preparation and life skills for a group graduating seniors at Miami Central High School.
David has been a member of the Dade County Bar Association and has served on the Criminal Court Committee. As a member of the Cuban American Bar Association, he served on the Mentoring and Scholarship Committee.
As a member of the American Bar Association, David has participated in the Criminal Justice Section’s Prosecution Function Committee, as well as the Government and Public Sector Lawyers Division.
David has spoken on behalf of the United States of America and the U.S. Department of State in Sao Paulo, Brazil on the topic of drug rehabilitation and narcotics strategy as a featured speaker. On various occasions, David was featured in EPOCA Magazine and the nationally recognized television program Fantastico.
David currently serves on the City of Miami Fire and Police Department Pension Trust as a trustee. David was recently appointed to this position by the City Manager of the city of Miami.
David is a Managing Partner of the law offices of Kahn & Kahn P.L. and practices real estate, probate, wills, trusts and criminal law.
