Vanessa Patricia Colon is the lead Paralegal at Kahn & Kahn. Vanessa organizes and coordinates office administration and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the firm. Vanessa started in the firm in 2012 as a paralegal, assisting with the firm’s real estate law and probate practice, including commercial and residential development projects, commercial, residential, sale transactions, and commercial loan and other real estate financing transactions. Her role included the preparation of purchase agreements and other documents, due diligence review, analysis and resolution of title and survey issues, and organizing and assisting with transaction closings. Furthermore, her responsibilities include all phases of trust and estate administration, to include the following: organizing and analyzing asset information; valuation of assets and strategize allocation to sub-trusts; preparation of inventories, asset allocation agreements, and asset transfer documents.
Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Vanessa worked as a Paralegal at Miami Dade County State Attorney’s Office, Juvenile Division. collaborating with multiple law enforcement agencies in investigating and implementing the appropriate charges to cases. Vanessa’s responsibilities included obtaining statements from victims, witness and law enforcement officers.
Vanessa received her bachelor’s degree from Saint Thomas University in Miami Garden, FL and earned her Master’s in Business Administration with specification in International Business. In 2009, Vanessa completed an internship at MTV Latin America, Production Management Department, where she closely worked with the production manager and production coordinator in coordinating shoots for the Latin American market. In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons.
